“Keep His decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children…” – Deuteronomy 4:40 (NIV)
Everyone should know that family life is a mixture of conversations, meditations, frustrations, negotiations, and celebrations. In other words, the life of the typical person is incredibly varied. It is either one or the other.
In the life of every family, there are moments of frustration and disappointment. For those who are fortunate enough to live in the presence of a closely knit, caring home, however, the rewards far outweigh the frustration. That is why we pray fervently for our family members, and that is why we love them despite their faults.
No family is perfect, neither yours nor mine. Despite the inevitable challenges and occasional hurt feelings that occur within family life, your clan is God’s gift to you. The little band of men, women, boys, girls, and babies is a priceless treasure on temporary loan from God. Give thanks to Him as the Giver of a family…and act accordingly.
A home is a place where we find direction. The profound love we hold in our hearts for our families and friends. As a child of God, one can only imagine the infinite love the Heavenly Father holds for us. God made us in His own image and gave us salvation through the person of His Son, Jesus Christ.
What will you do in response to the Creator’s love?
Will you ignore it or embrace it?
Will you neglect it?
That decision is yours and yours alone.
When you embrace God’s love, your life’s purpose is forever changed. When you embrace God’s love, you feel different about yourself, your family, your neighbours, and your world. More importantly, you share God’s message and love with others. God is love and expects you to share His love with others, you and your family.
Prayer
Dear God, thank You for making me a part of Your family, and I praise You for Your gifts and love. You have also blessed me with my earthly family, and I pray that You protect and bless them. Let me show love and acceptance for my family Lord so that through me, they may come to know and love You in Jesus’s name. Amen.
